Wedding Photography

Our Philosophy on wedding photography is really simple, it is your day and we will do our best to make it everything you want it to be. It doesn't matter what we say our style of photography is, or what our idea of the standard shots are. It only matters that we take the pictures that you want to see. We make a point of spending time with you prior to the wedding, making sure that we know exactly what it is you want and what you consider the special moments of the day.

Make sure you get the most for your money. On average we make about $20 dollars an hour for doing a wedding. The reason that we tell you this is for you to have a better understanding of exactly what you get for your money. Typically we will meet with you for at least an hour prior to the wedding to discuss what your ceremony is going to consist of and any special photos you want taken. The day of the wedding we usually arrive at the church two hours before the ceremony to try to get as many of the formal shots out of the way as we can to make it easier for you to get to your guests as quickly as possible after the ceremony. We stay until the last guests are leaving the reception. This usually winds up being around 8 hours. When we take pictures of a wedding and reception we will often take between 800 and 1000 images. We will spend 40 to 50 hours going through the images eliminating the duplicates, someone's eyes are closed or maybe group shots where someone was looking elsewhere. We also color balance, adjust brightness and contrast, for every single image to ensure the best final quality that you can have. This is very important when you are taking pictures in a low light setting and is only possible with digital images.  Sometimes  the pictures that mean the most to you are the ones that we take before or after the wedding because we are not concerned about film usage or cost. We post your final images to the internet preview gallery so that your friends and family can enjoy browsing through the pictures as well. Often you may have friends or family come in from a long distance and it is to difficult for them to see the pictures. The internet alleviates this problem.

It is important to us that you understand exactly what you are getting for your money. No two weddings are just alike and yours is the only one you will ever have and I want to help make it as special as it should be. Please click on the Wedding Gallery button below and check out one of the weddings listed. We always advise people to look at a photographers work during the entire wedding and don't let them show you a Bridal session as an example of their wedding photography. The controlled lighting and no time constraint of a Bridal session is completely different to the low lighting and fast pace of your actual wedding.

We like to think of ourselves as storytellers. We are honored to get to see and capture all of the special moments of your wedding. The bride and groom have so much going on that they often don't get to see some of the most touching moments of the day. After all a wedding is a celebration, a time for family and friends to come together to celebrate your happiness. Our job is to make sure that you can open your album in 20 years from now and remember all the details of your special day. We find that the most effective way to accomplish this is by combining all of the traditional shots with a photojournalistic flair, while mixing in some special designs that can only be accomplished with digital photography.
